A Memorial Gathering will be held at Laurel Land – Rose Hill Funeral Home, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112, on April 24, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life starting at 2:00 pm.
Born April 26, 1950, in Bryan, Texas, Frank was the beloved son of Samuel Perry Burney and Eugenia Schmidt Burney. A graduate of Polytechnic High School, Frank found his lifelong partner when he married Nancy Nabors on July 5, 1972. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and quiet, steady devotion.
Frank was a craftsman at heart. He spent his working years installing gutters, building/installing mansard roofs, and building race car converters—projects he approached with patience, skill, and pride. After many years working with fiberglass, he retired from Over the Top, where his careful attention to detail and commitment to quality earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. He took joy in working with his hands and creating things built to last, leaving behind tangible reminders of his care and craftsmanship.
Frank’s warmth and gentle humor touched everyone who knew him. He delighted in family gatherings, small acts of kindness, and the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and treasured those moments with them. He also thoroughly enjoyed time with his friends, spending countless evenings laughing, eating, and sharing memories. He is remembered for his steady presence, practical wisdom, and the way he made those around him feel valued.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Eugenia Burney, and his brother, Charles Burney.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Nancy; his sons, Greg and Michael Burney; his daughter-in-law, Stefanie; and his grandson Dylan, whose laughter brought him endless joy.
The family welcomes expressions of sympathy. While flowers are appreciated, donations to a favorite charity in Frank’s memory are also warmly encouraged.
