Phred was born in Texarkana on November 13, 1947. He attended Grand Prairie High, and later drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968. He was a Vietnam Veteran who was awarded with a Purple Heart along with multiple other awards. Phred worked in the printing industry for Fort Worth Star Telegram. He was married to Joy Phelps on September 23, 2009, in Cleburne Texas
Phred is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Jr and mother, Ina Hope Phelps; and late wife, Jodi Phelps.
Survivors: He is survived by wife, Joy Phelps; daughter, Amber Mckee; grandchildren, Gabi Davis and Matthew Mendoza; and brother, Bill Phelps and family; as well as many cousins.
