Garry Evans

He died in Fort Worth, Texas on October 9, 2023, at the age of 79. The family moved to Fort Worth after his father finished his service in the Navy during the war, and Garry lived in Fort Worth the remainder of his life.

Garry graduated from Tech High School and went on to Weatherford College for a time. Garry then worked in the family business Evans Brake Service located in downtown Fort Worth.

Garry met his wife Jo Elaine and they married in 1966 and were married for 57 years upon on her death in September. Garry wanted what Elaine wanted, they were the perfect match and he has gone to join her in eternal life.

Garry had a beautiful bass voice, he loved to sing and play the guitar and Elaine played the drums, they loved to play every Friday night at the Azle Opry, for the last 20 years until Covid. If it was country and western they were there.

Garry and Elaine had one son Michael Wayne who was the joy of their life. For the last several years, when they moved to assisted living, Michael has been a devoted caretaker.

They always loved animals and usually had several at one time.

So in lieu flowers donations may be to a charity of your choice or any animal rescue or shelter.

Garry is survived by his son Michael and his wife Jessica. Asister, Thersia Evans and two nephews and their wives and several cousins across the country.

Graveside service to be held on Thursday October 19,2023 at 2:00PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
