Gary Ronald Hague

Gary Ronald (Ron) Hague went to be with the Lord at the age of 87, as he passed away on Friday, November 15. Ron was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 29, 1932. He was the only child of Oscar and Ruby Collins Hague. Ron was a man of many talents. As a child, he modeled clothes for Williamson & Dickie. He also traveled with the USO as a singer and dancer, entertaining the troops during WWII. He later would sing in the Fort Worth Boys Choir and the Fort Worth Opera Chorus. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1950. He played guard on the high school basketball team and was an All-State baseball player. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin on a baseball scholarship where he was a pitcher. Ron was also a very good musician playing French horn in the high school band and also the University of Texas Air Force ROTC band.

Ron served in the US Army from 1955-1957 and was stationed in Germany. After his military service, he went to work for Consolidated Aircraft, and then Texas Electric Company, where he worked for 34 years before retiring in 1987. Ron coached Little League baseball and YMCA basketball. He also taught piano lessons for 40 years. Ron was active in the Fort Worth Jaycees. He was also a founding member of the Jaycees in Burleson.

Ron loved the Texas Longhorn sports teams and was a football season ticket holder since 1984. He was a member of the University of Texas Longhorn Foundation and Texas Exes Association.

Ron was a member of Genesis United Methodist Church and the Central Texas Walk to Emmaus.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Hague. Other survivors include: 2 daughters, Vicki (Mark) Hardy, Lori Young, sons Michael (Cindy) Hague and Brett Hague, step-daughter Keri (Randy) Minshew, step-sons, Kirk (Robyn) Bergin and Kyle (Celeste) Bergin, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Hague.
