Gertrude Naomi Hayes

Gertrude Naomi Hayes, age 94, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Formally known as "Baby" by her family, Gertrude was born October 24, 1927 in Reagan, Texas. Gertrude graduated from Kirkpatrick High School and went on to attend Beauty School where she became a licensed Cosmetologist.

She met and married Mr. William Madison Hayes, Jr. on March 8, 1948 and lived happily together for 73 glorious years. Mrs. Hayes was a longtime member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, serving in many ministries of the church. Servant of God, well done, on December 23, 2021 God dispatched an Angel to the bedside of Gertrude Naomi Raynor Hayes to join her loved ones awaiting her arrival.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cleopatra Raynor; sisters, Thelma Williams and Lois Washington; brother, Carl Lee Raynor; son, William Madison Hayes, III and grandson, Gerald Wayne Norman. Left to cherish her memories is her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, William Madison Hayes, Jr.; sons, Willard Hayes (Millie) and Paul Hayes (Lisa); 5 grandchildren, Teresa Hayes, Yolanda Norman Smith (Andre), William Madison Hayes, IV, Paul Smith and Aaron Hayes; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation for Gertrude will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM.
