Dear Sylvia and family, 
  Please forgive me for not posting this earlier.  Lynn's death left me shocked beyond words.  I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am over his passing.  Carol told me last January that Lynn was going to retire;I had so hoped to hook up with him in retirement.  I loved him and will miss him deeply.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Lynn's death. Our heartfelt condolences to Sylvia, Jeff, Paula and Tessa. Many fond memories of his pastorate and legacy at Sandy Springs Christian Church.

We were very saddened to hear of Lynn's passing.  He ministered our church in Memphis, TN.  He dedicated our daughter.  Our children grew up with his children.  My husband and I came from two different Christian backgrounds.  Lynn brought us together in that sense.  He always had a smile on his face!  He will be missed, and heaven is blessed!  We pray for strength for his family.

Dear Jeff,

It is with great sorrow that I hear today of your father's demise. I will always remember him as a kind, joyful and generous person. My deepest felt condolences to you, your mother and the rest of your family for this great loss.

I was Lynn's secretary at Sandy Springs Christian near Atlanta for several years.  He made my job delightful with his warmth, sense of humor, and awkwardness.  At least twice a week, a shout would go up from his office as another cup of coffee had been spilled, or books had been knocked over.  Perhaps my most vivid memory was on the occasion of my interview for the job.  When we said goodbye he turned and hit his nose on the door jamb, resulting in my first experience of many howls. 

I looked forward to coming to work every day and enjoyed my interactions with Sylvia, Jeff, Tessa, and Paula.  My love and prayers go out to them.  His heart was big and his sermons inspirational.  I particularly loved the Biblical storytelling.  What depth this added!  I am very sad knowing that I will never again be the recipient of one of his hugs.  It is a great loss.

I was so sorry to read of Lynn's death.  I first knew him, when he was a young boy and his father was minister at my home church in Flemingsburg, Ky.  Then, low and behold, there he was, a sophomore at Transylvania when I entered as a Freshman.  We always spoke to each other, but he always had girlfriends, so that was that...........I see from reading the guest book that Lynn touched many people's lives since the 45 years have passed that I've seen him.  My condolences go out to his family and the mutual friends we had at Transylvania.  Rest in Peace, Lynn.

I remember the unique and fun things that Lynn started at Kingsway Christian in Memphis, and got Jeff started in his ministry with youth, music and videos and other fabulously fun activities.  Then I was able to share in the Storytelling for a brief time with Lynn, Stan, and Judith.  Lynn and Sylvia were made for each other like a pair of gloves - each fit the other.  Prayers, hugs, and love to all of you during this time of loss and grief.  Heaven has gained another StarBright StarLight!

I remember Lynn from my freshman year at Transylvania.  He was a sophomore. He took the time to show me around the campus.  

I thought then---as his life's journey has proven---a nicer and kinder person one could not find.

My childhood is filled with wonderful memories of Lynn, Sylvia, Jeff, Tessa & Paula and our families spending time together. Lynn answered my annoying childhood questions about faith with patience and laughter at my endless questions. He helped grow my faith and was an incredible friend to my family. We are incredibly saddened at the loss of a great man who meant so much to so many- especially his family. We love you all so very much!

Sylvia, Jeff, Paula, and Tessa, I'm so sorry for your loss.  The Overends speak of Lynn White and his stories more often than you would think even 30 years later.  My husband grew up in the Disciples of Christ Church in Lawrenceville, GA and his family is familiar with the great stories and leadership of Rev. Lynn White too! Thinking of you lots

We all have fond and loving memories of Lynn while at Transylvania. My condolenses to his family and friends.

Lynn's death greatly saddens us.  Only two months ago, he, Sylvia and Tessa were at my Dad's visitation in Fort Worth.  Sylvia, you and Lynn were such a joy to my Dad, and I am very thankful that he was able to attend your church for that time, until he moved to Memphis.  He made some wonderful memories there with you and your church.  And, of course, we have many wonderful memories of theater experiences Lindsey had with Jeff, Paula and Tessa. Dear Sylvia, David, Paula and Tessa,

I want to send you my heartfelt condolences in the loss of Lynn.  I was stunned and my heart broke to hear of his passing.  Not only were Lynn and I fraternity brothers and good friends at Transy, 30 years ago, your family took me in when I moved from Iowa to Georgia to be closer to my ill parents.  Your kindness changed my life.  I will forever to be grateful to you all.  I share in your sorrow.

Lynn was more than my minister. He was my friend.  I will miss his rye sense of humor, his hearty laugh, his twinkling eyes when he was telling an "inside joke", and his insistence on perfection but acceptance of imperfections. I learned so much from him and appreciate how he pushed me into more than I ever thought I could be.  I will miss him very much.
