Jake was the funniest little boy with a curious nature and a natural athletic ability. At age five he started his passion for baseball and continued to excel through his baseball career into a young man. From wrestling to baseball he would not only razz his opponents, he would back up his playful taunting with his fierce competitive nature. The best part was after the game he was the first guy to shake their hand and razz them all over again. Jake was also a loving caregiver, and friend to his people. He had a youthful wit which brought joy to every one that knew him and put a smile on their face.
James, Jamison and Jake enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. They loved to BBQ and play a fierce game of dominoes together. He was raised in a home where friendship and family values came first. The Crawford's have always opened their home to anyone and are a soft spot for anyone who needs them. Jake cherished spending time with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends during their yearly beach vacations.
Jake spent his life in Watauga and attended Birdville School District. He graduated in 2014 from Haltom High School as the varsity second baseman AKA "Red Dog". Following high school, he joined a young men's amateur league. Jake was known as "El Diablo Rojo" on the team "Outlaws" in the Mexican Men's Baseball League of Fort Worth. He enjoyed playing with his teammates and the comradery of the team and made lifelong friends.
In recent months, Jake was in college at the top of his class. His natural abilities went further as he studied to become an aviation technician. He was smart, responsible and consistent as he transitioned into adulthood.
Jake is survived by his parents, James and Jennifer; brother, Jamison; grandmother, Donna "Mimi" Stovall; uncles, Fred, Sean and Adam Stovall; aunts, Ginny, Jennifer and Emily Stovall; cousins, Ethan, Reagan, Savannah, Kiera, Callie, Harper; best friend, Tony "Big Rig" Ortegon and extended family who Jake loved dearly.
Preceded in death by grandparents, J.D. "Papa" and Helen "Nini" Crawford and aunt, Pam Crawford.
We will miss "Jakie" and his fierce spirit will be with us always.
