James William Donathan

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James William Donathan, who left us on May 6th, 2026, at the age of 78. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Born on September 12th, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, James Donathan was the child of Carl and Jewell Donathan. Throughout life, James Donathan was known for his hardworking nature, love of sports, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He devoted his time and energy to being a devoted provider who always put his family first.

James Donathan is survived with deep sorrow by his wife Debbie Donathan, son Scott Donathan and his wife Camilla Donathan, grandchildren Connor Donathan, Cage Donathan, Noah Broughton, and Emma Broughton and many more family and friends.

James Donathan was preceded in death by his father Carl Donathan, mother Jewell Donathan, stepmother Francis Donathan, and stepsister Glenna Lilly.

The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of James William Donathan's life on May 16th, 2026, at 10am, with visitation beginning at 9am, to be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. James William Donathan’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
