A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jim attended college at the University of Memphis. Following college he enlisted and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1958 - 1961. His career was spent in Finance and Sales until his retirement.
Jim is best known as someone who never met a stranger and would carry on a conversation with anyone for hours. He loved a good joke and had a deep hearty laugh. Jim was also known and happily answered to “Mr C.” because of his uncanny resemblance to Tom Bosley who played Mr. Cunningham from the television show Happy Days. This was a nickname given to him from the friends of his daughters. Later in his life he answered to the name of Poppy that his grand children affectionately named him. This was the name he loved and the one that most to him, as his grand children were his world.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judy, of 52 years; daughters, Stephanie Kay Remine and her husband Dave and Laurie Perkins and her husband Tony; grandchildren, Brennen, Miranda, Alex and Kennedy and the son he never had Rusty.
