James was born to Richard and Christina Meynell. He was raised in Kurri Kurri, Australia, where he lived until he departed to begin his college years, where he studied to become a Mechanical Engineer. He proudly served in the Australian Army during World War II.
James made a life long career working in the railroad industry, designing, repairing and maintaining railroad cars. In his free time, James was an avid reader. His ability to retain what he read made him a favorite pick for any family trivia games. James dedicated time to becoming a Master Mason while he still lived in Australia.
After his move to the United States, James enjoyed traveling and shared many trips with his beloved wife, Annie, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. James worked for the H.E.B. School District where he was a bus monitor for special needs children for more than 10 years. A beloved husband, step-father and friend will be dearly missed.
James is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eunice Greig.
James is survived by his wife, Annie Manson Grant Meynell; step-children, Gail Ford, Peter Webster and his wife, Kathy, James Webster, and John Webster, and his wife, Nelda; niece, Rosemary Gaylard and her husband, Robert; Nephew, David Greig, and his wife, Ellen. James is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, step-grandchildren and friends.
