Jerry D. Elliott was born June 11, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jack & Dorothy Elliott and passed away April 5, 2019 in Keller, Texas. Jerry retired from the United States Navy after serving proudly for 20 years. He was last stationed on the USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier. During the filming of The Final Countdown, which took place on the USS Nimitz, Jerry was assigned to Kirk Douglas while he was onboard. Following retirement he worked in the Civil Service. Always serving, Jerry was a 32nd Degree Mason, past Master Mason, member of the VFW Post 9190 in Haltom City and Jerry loved to referee high school football & umpire high school baseball. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Louise Elliott; children, Brenda Leitzow & William Elliott; sister, Barbara Elliott Lockhart & husband James and numerous cousins, other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Watauga. Inurnment at Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
