JoAnn Boortz, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was surrounded at the bedside by her adoring husband and three daughters as she closed her beautiful blue eyes to time and opened them to eternity.
JoAnn was born in Fort Worth, TX, on February 14, 1937, and was the oldest of five siblings. It was appropriate for her birth to be on Valentine’s Day due to her loving nature. JoAnn and Leroy were married Friday, November 13, 1954. They shared a love that stood the test of time and inspired those around them.
JoAnn had three beautiful daughters, Jeania, Tricia, and Sherry, who were a testament to who she was and what she stood for. They are an extension of her strength, love, and values and developed an unbreakable bond of friendship and family. They stayed at her side through the last days and never abandoned her.
Her beauty was evident on the inside as much as on the outside. She never met a stranger and would never turn away a person in need. She was adored by her grandkids and great-grandkids.
The grace of her soul and the remanence of her laugh is a song that will echo forever in our memories. For hers will be the sunshine that will break through the grayest days. We all can turn her memories to bring a smile.
This isn’t goodbye; it is just until we meet again.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Leroy Boortz. Her daughters Jeania Harmon, Tricia Barr, and Sherry Ledbetter. Her son-in-laws Dell Harmon, Bobby Barr, and Darrell Ledbetter. Her six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
There will be a service for those who would like to say goodbye to JoAnn on the 12th of January, at 11 am, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery, E Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth.
