John Lewis Bigler Jr.

John Lewis Bigler Jr., passed away at age 94 on Saturday July 28, at his home in Arlington, Texas. John served as a Master Technical Sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II from 1941-1945 and was stationed in Guadalcanal. He opened Forest Hill cleaners in 1953 and was owner and operator until he retired in 2009 at the age of 85. John served as District Governor for Lions Club Intl., District 2E, was the founder of Forest Hill Lions Club, Past Exalted Ruler Fort Worth Elks Club, a 58 Year Member of Masonic Lodge 925, Caliph of the Bedouins unit of Moslah Temple Shriners, and was a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, and sons, John Bigler III and Sam Bigler. John is survived by his daughter, Cindy Halsey and spouse Jim; grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Rossing, Adam Halsey, Shannon (Curtis) Rollins, and Jaclyn Bigler. A private memorial service will be held at Shannon Rose Hill in Fort Worth.
