John Edward Finney, SR. age 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of Feb 4th 2026 at a hospice facility located in Fort Worth Texas.
John was born to the parents of Edward D. and Nell L. (Mitchell) Finney on May 10, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas.
John attended Fort Worth ISD public schools. He later joined the US Army serving in Vietnam War. He followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a Truck Driver for Jack Cooper Transportation where he delivered GM vehicles all over the United States.
He enjoyed fishing and relaxing at the Lake while spending time with his dog Bently.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward D and Nell Finney, Brother-Jimmy Finley who are all waiting at the gates of heaven to welcome him home.
Those left to cherish his memories are: Sisters-Rosetta Harrison, Dorothy Austin, Brothers-Jessie Finney, Michael Finney (Ruby) Children-Dorise Williams, John Edward Finney Jr, Lacresha Bruton, Makisha Bruton. 24 Grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
John E. Finney will be deeply missed.
