Jon Ronald Allen

He was born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1941 to Dwight Allen and Pauline Moreland Allen and grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Jon attended Hutchinson High School where he played baseball and basketball. He was also a member of the Cheboygan Car Club. After high school, Jon enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine. He met his wife of 62 years, Linda, while visiting Bar Harbor, Maine on leave.

Jon and Linda were married on December 5, 1962, in Brewer, Maine. Together, Jon and Linda have three children, Jon M. Allen, Gail E. Johnson, and Jeffrey L. Allen.

After leaving the Air Force in 1962, Jon received his bachelor's degree from Wichita State University, followed by a master's degree from Southern Methodist University. He retired as an Aerospace Engineer.

Jon was preceded in death by his father Dwight Allen, his mother Pauline Moreland Allen, his brother Joel Allen, and his son Jon M. Allen.

He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Gail and her husband Brian Johnson and son Brian Alan Johnson, his son Jeffrey L. Allen and his wife Kimber Allen, his sister Loretta Cash her husband Steve, daughter Erin Ratliff and son Austin Cash, and brother Tom Allen and wife Molly Allen. He is survived by three grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Allen, Justice Brewer, and Brian Alan Johnson, as well as four great grandchildren, Rilan, Mark, Mackenzie and Quinn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Laurel Land Fort Worth in the Chapel of Chimes.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
