

A Visitation for Juan will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112, followed by a Chapel Service at 12:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, located at 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906 on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
Juan was born in Shiner, Texas to Juan A. Farias Sr. and Angelita Garza Farias on June 12,1931. He went to Brownsville High School. He married Rosalie Martinez on August 17, 1955 in Brownsville, Texas. He worked at various jobs in Brownsville to include Pan American World Airways. He joined the U.S. Army in November of 1954, serving in Panama, Germany and in various bases throughout the United States for 22 years. After his retirement, he worked for the Department of Defense at Biggs Field Army Base In El Paso, Texas for 18 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations against Hostile Forces in the Republic of Vietnam. He was awarded The Army Commendation Medal, 3rd Civil Affairs Group (Airborne) Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, Panama and The Army Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster), United States Army Air Defense Center and Fort Bliss, Texas.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Juan A. and Angelita G. Farias, his wife, Rosalie M. Farias, sons, John and David, brothers, Fernando, Matias, Reynaldo, Juvencio, Jose Angel, Jose Maria, sisters, Margarita F. Taguilas, Rosa Cruz, Guadalupe, and Great-Granddaughter Kamoya Sanai Walker.
Juan is survived by his children, Diana Farias Stives, Fred (Dorothy) Farias, Margaret Farias, Maria (Casey) Sandidge, Carlos Farias, brother Isauro G. (Catalina) Farias, sister, Luciana Maria Farias, 23 Grandchildren, 44 Great-Grandchildren, 6 great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Juan wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the I.C.U. team at John Peter Smith Hospital, especially Dr. Paul Kwon, nurse Haleigh, nurse Vianney, and nurse Kieara who went above and beyond in their gracious care of our Dad.
