Juanita was a force, far from perfect and tough as nails. She was paving the way for strong women since the day she was born June 12, 1928 in Fort Madison, Iowa.
She rode a horse over 20 miles each way to attend primary school. She raised 4 children in 1950's America with no support and no family within 700 miles. In a time that women couldn't own a car or home and could be denied housing and work simply for being a woman much less having 4 kids.
She worked for General Dynamics for over 40 years and achieved the highest security clearance allowed. She was the most stubborn and independent woman which at times was maddening and admirable. She wasn't good at flowery words but she loved you with service even if you told her not to.
Her spirit held strong even as her body failed. At the end of her life, she was coherent and aware of her family's love and respect for her.
Rest easy, you ran the race well. We are sure she is currently getting heaven working in the most efficient manner possible.
She is preceded in death by her parents Chester and Orvetta Buford, brothers Harlan and Charles Buford, daughter Louise Brawley, son Jackie Roberson, grandson Shad Priddy, and son-in-law Mano Barberena.
She is survived by her daughters Becky Priddy and Linda Barberena, grandchildren Donna (Tim) Reagan, David (Diana) Barberena, Earl Brawley, Shandy Stogsdill and Lauren Barberena, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Juanita will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
