Julia was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Sarah, Okla., to George R. Hurd Sr. and Mary R. Mullens Hurd. She married Jack L. Cannon on Feb. 14, 1953. Julia owned and operated Cannon's Florist and Gift Shop for 21 years at which time she sold to Bice's Florist and continued to work with them until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years; and two brothers, George R. Hurd Jr. and Buddy W. Hurd.
Survivors: Julia was a loving mother to her daughter, Carol A. McMahon of Fort Worth; son, Scott and wife, Debbie Cannon, of Cleburne; the proud grandmother of John and wife, Meg Brockway, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jack and Rebecca Cannon of Cleburne; even prouder of her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Brockway of Smyrna, Tenn., Ashley Taylor of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Alyssia Taylor of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; and a loving sister to Lalita Shelton of Fort Worth.
