KiRoshun was the only child born to Helen Lucille Crowder, and he brought pure joy to the Crowder
family. As the first grandchild, he was close in age to his younger aunts and uncles and had a special
bond with all of them. KiRoshun loved his mother and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and
grandparents, and he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was such a gentle giant.
KiRoshun was Christened at a very early age at Benson Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal
Church, Fort Worth, Texas, where he served on the Usher Board and attended church conferences
and conventions. Born into a Christian home, he was disciplined and taught Godly principles and
values. He loved God and as he grew in stature and grace, he chose God as his Heavenly Father. He
learned how to be holy. He was a quiet person but he knew when to speak the truth. He was a
no-nonsense kind of gentleman.
KiRoshun attended Little Tommy Tucker School, Sagamore Hills Elementary, Meadowbrook
Middle, and Eastern Hills and Trimble Technical High Schools in Fort Worth,TX. He studied
Automotive Technology and Auto Collision and Repair at Trimble Tech High School and Tarrant
County Junior College, graduating from Trimble Tech in 1991. He also continued his education at
Texas College in Tyler, Texas, the only Christian Methodist Episcopal College in Texas.
In his childhood and adulthood KiRoshun loved life and especially sports. One of his nicknames was
“Wild Man.” He loved race cars and good music. KiRoshun also excelled in football and basketball
in high school, but a devastating knee injury derailed his football career. Compelled by his early love
of cars, he became a business owner, purchasing, selling, repairing, and restoring automotive
vehicles. He loved this challenge until his passing.
One of many precious memories that his mother holds dear to heart, is the day KiRoshun drove her
car to high school. Once he was home, she went outside to get in her car, but to her surprise she did
not see her car. Ms. Helen Crowder went to her son perplexed, borderline upset, asking him what he
had done with her car. He simply replied, “Momma it's outside.” As Ms. Crowder returned outside
and looked again for her car, the true talent and automotive skill that her son had was revealed to her.
KiRoshun had done such an outstanding job on remodeling her car that initially, it was not
recognizable. He even changed the car color! Ms. Crowder enjoys sharing this story with family and
friends, and it continues to bring joy and smiles to faces during this heartbreaking time.
On the day of KiRoshun’s passing, he had just received news of his approval to start the process for
acquiring his Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and that was the last conversation with his
mother. The Crowder Family rejoices that in his last days, KiRoshun shared meals and life-changing
fellowship with his family Ki Roshun was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Owen Crowder, Jr., Uncles: Mr. George Nelson James & Rev. Owen Crowder, III, Aunts: Mrs. Gloria Dittmann & Mrs. Barbara Crowder-Howard, Cousins: Master Damion Damon Crowder & Mr. Brandon Crowder.
