Maria Elva Garcia

Maria Elva Garcia, 67, of Fort Worth, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, surrounded by her family. Maria was born July 2, 1954 in Laredo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francisca Peña Lopez; her sister Guadalupe L. Cantu; brothers Ismael, Israel, Ricardo, and Reynaldo Lopez Jr.; and granddaughters Clarissa and Isabella Mendoza.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She met her husband, Marcos, at the age of 14 and they were happily married for 50 years. She was known to enjoy spending time with her family, singing and dancing along to her favorite Tejano songs, and for always speaking her mind.

She is survived by her husband, Marcos Garcia; her daughters Laura Sanders and husband Broderick, Gloria Diaz and husband Mario, and Areil Garcia; her grandchildren Carlysa Mendoza, Broderick Sanders Jr., Brendan Sanders, and Daniel Mendoza III; her great-granddaughter Autumn Sanders; sisters Amelia Garza, Maria L. Lopez and husband David Dawkins, and Norma J. Nelson; brother Tomas Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews, pets, and loved ones.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 4:30 PM. The service will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, Chapel of the Chimes, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
