Uncle Roy, I never new a person more devoted to family than you. You were always there for all members of your family. I feel privileged to have been included in that family although not of the blood. 

As a small child you and Charlie were my silent protectors. After we moved away, the years passed until I was old enough to come back and spend summers there, my segregate families looking after me. The Davis twins always made me feel wanted, loved and protected. Their families were my family. 

I regret that I allowed distance, time and circumstances prevent me from being there through the years to show you that I was paying attention and learned more form you than anyone will ever know. 

Sometimes we have to let the water become thicker than the blood, you understood that and I love you so for it. It will probably just be a blink of the eye for you but feel like an eternity to those of us left behind, we will see those we love again.

I send all my love to my grieving family. You are often in my thoughts and prayers.
