

BEDFORD -- Otis (Paul) Robinson, 94, went to be with his Lord September 22, 2010. Celebration of Paul's life: 10:00 a.m., Monday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Family Visitation: Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m., at the Shannon Rufe Snow. Paul was born August 5, 1916 to George Wesley Alexander Robinson, and Mattie Sylvia Box Robinson in Baird. He graduated from Baird High School in 1934. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corp in 1936-37. After receiving his barber's license, Paul married the love f his life, Effa Ella Shotwell, on August 21, 1938. During the years from 1938-1940, he attended the University of Texas in Austin while working as a barber. Moving back to Abilene, he became a civilian aircraft electrician during WWII at Tye Army Air Field. In 1945, Paul built the Hardin Simmons Barber Shop and barbered until 1967. He was Boy Scout Master of Troop 3 at University Baptist Church in Abilene from 1951 through 1967 and worked with the Boy Scouts for over thirty years. When moving to Ft. Worth in 1968, he was employed by General Dynamics for several years, before becoming a union carpenter, and after retirement kept carpentering into his eighties building homes with his sons. He was a deacon at North Richland Hills Baptist Church and served his church in many ways. His favorite hobby was fishing. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Effa; daughter, Martha; parents; three brothers; three sisters. He is survived by sons Jerry and wife Floy of Clever, Mo, Bill and wife Jackie of Ennis, and Leslie and wife Beth of Ft. Worth; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.
