The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life gathering on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral chapel.
Wayne was born in Pampa, TX May 1947. Growing up, Wayne moved numerous times with his family because of his father’s career with the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of East High School in Anchorage, Alaska, and later completed his studies at West Texas State University. Wayne was professional salesman, loved being the ‘man behind the camera” and was an avid boater.
Wayne often said his most difficult and spectacularly successful sales job was landing the love of his life, Evelyn, forty odd years ago. “Seems like yesterday”, he would say. “Time flies when we’re having fun”
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Roberta; his brother, Bob; and grandchildren, Kayden and Maddison Fields.
He is survived by wife, Evelyn; daughter Michelle Thrasher and husband Alan; sons Robert and Michael and daughter in law, Kristi; grandchildren Aaron Fields and wife, Kerry and granddaughter Ashley Shaw; sister-in-law Kay Hamilton, nieces Nikki Verden and Kaelin Turner and their families; sisters-in-law Jane Ward and Pat Ivey, nephews Perry “Butch” Vaughn and Stephen Vaughn and their families and nephew Matthew Kelly.
Memorials in Wayne’s name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or any organization in support of military service members.
