Mr. Roderick Von Russell

Roderick Von Russell was born December 23, 1969, in Fort

Worth, Texas to Eulanda K. Russell and Derrick Burger.

Rodrick was formally educated in Fort Worth Independent

School District. Rodrick graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar

High School in the class of 1988. Rodrick attended Pan

America University in Brownsville, Texas on a track

scholarship.

Rodrick accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He attended

Greater Saint Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. Anyone

who knew Rodrick knew that he loved his mother dearly, and

talked about her religiously, to all his friends. Rodrick’s sisters

held a special place in his heart, and he loved to boast about

his family.

Rodrick was employed at General Motors Universal for 20

years and he was the U. A. W. Local 129 Union Steward for

several years.

On November 16, 2022, Rodrick answered the Master’s call.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Freddie and

Tommie Lee Davis, and his stepfather John P. Woods.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Eulanda K.

Woods, sisters Dr. Natasha Simmons (Dennis Jr.) and Victoria

Knowles; Nieces Dajia Simmons, Haelee Durham; Nephew

Dennis Simmons III; Aunts Tommie Thompson, Deborah

Adkins; Uncle Leslie Russell (Tasha); and a host of cousins.
