Memorial service: 4 p.m. Friday
People who have lived to one hundred years may not have experienced the beauty of nature, or the nature of people, that Sally Taylor did in her short 62 years. When you hurry through life, it passes you by. Sally never let a big, but even more importantly, a small moment pass her by. The testament of this truth bears witness in the lives of her nieces, nephews, her brother, sisters, friends, and certainly her mother. Sally treasured the gift of relationships and did not miss a thing. From holidays to homework, Sally was there, carrying with her a smile, and oftentimes a smirk, to brighten the lives of those she loved.
For the past 40 years, Sally invested her life enriching the lives of others through education. She was a devoted teacher for many years, and her love of books inspired her desire to share that love with children as a school librarian.
We would all call ourselves lucky to have been one of her students. Her calm, her patience, and her insight are gifts she gave to those around her. May we all learn from you Sally Jo to experience every moment, no matter how insignificant they may seem, in the end, each one is incredibly significant.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite library in honor of Sally Jo Taylor.
