Such a delicate and gentle soul, yet a warrior at heart. I will never forget your  courage or the wisdom you shared with me. You were and are still a blessing who definitely served her purpose here on Earth. You’ve impacted my life in a way that only YOU could. Silkin and I met in middle school.. I was an overly bubbly, way too chatty little thing and I drove Silkin crazy. Every day she would get to class early to grab a secluded seat, and every day [to her dismay] I would make room for myself right next to her. It took a while but one day she cracked that million dollar smile of hers and I knew I had grown on her. We have been friends ever since.. We would look back on our middle school days (my persistence and her old soul) and laugh.. Silkin was, and will continue to be, such a bright light in my life. Fly high, my friend! I’ll be up there driving you crazy again one day ;)

Gone from our sight but not from our hearts...Although it’s difficult to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memories comfort you tomorrow.

Her beautiful spirit will live on! She was a delight to know and I appreciate her bright light that showed through every time I saw her! 

My heart sank when I heard the news about Silk. Then I smiled as I reminisced on the joy she brought to those who knew her.
May God wrap his blanket of comfort around you all and may her memory continue to be a blessing until you see her again. 

I will always remember Ms. Silkin on how involved she was and so dedicated to the work with her church family.  I will always honor her perseverance and fight for life.  She was a true gem and warrior.  She fought a good fight and she kept the faith.  Rest in Abraham’ bosom now sweet lady.  I will always love you.  

Silkin was such a sweet young woman.  She put her energy into getting better and she was so pleasant to be around.  I am praying for you, Joe, Ann, Sonya and your entire family.  I love you guys.
