Simon J. Harris, a retired United States Army veteran and member of the Detective Division of the Kerrville Police Department, transitioned peacefully on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, with his loving family at his side. Celebration of life: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2951 Evans Ave., Rev. W.T. Glynn, pastor, officiating. Interment: 12:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. Survivors: Left to cherish their father's memory are his sons, Michael J Harris, Mark E, Harris, Randy L. Harris, Samuel W. Harris; daughters, Emily H. Hoosier (Kenneth), Yolanda Simone Prescott; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
