

Susan was born in Lubbock, Texas and attended Texas Tech University where she earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in education. She met her future husband, Randy, while attending First Baptist Church, and they married on August 3, 1973. After teaching school in Lubbock for a few years she moved to North Richland Hills, Texas. She took some time off to raise her 3 sons then returned to teaching via Tarrant County College and Birdville ISD. She advanced at Birdville until concluding her teaching career at Haltom High School teaching AP Statistics.
Susan taught kindergarten at North Richland Hills Baptist Church for over 30 years, where she also raised her family. The family became members of NRHBC in 1978.
Susan enjoyed traveling with her family, camping, hiking, fishing and seeing the sites. Among her favorite travels where Scotland, New York City, Colorado, Alaska, Hawaii, and many more.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clyde Sharp Sr. and Thelma Lou Sharp and her brother, James Clyde Sharp Jr.
Susan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Randal R. Douglas; sons, Matthew, Andrew, and Mark Douglas; daughter-in-laws, Angela D. Douglas (Matthew), and Nicole A. Douglas (Andrew); grandson, Daniel Lee Douglas; step grandson, Nathan Kuhn; and granddaughters, Lyla Ann Douglas and Aubrey Joy Douglas, who call her G-Ma.
