Tania Leticia Alcala De Leon entered this life on June 29th, 1955, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. On February 13, 2023, at the age of 67 Tania entered into Heavenly Eternal Life when she heard the Lord’s voice say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant”. Can you imagine the reunion with her parents Maria Cruz Luna and Oscar De Leon in heaven? Can you picture her seeing Jesus for the first time? We can only imagine!
Though Tania is now in her heavenly home; let us reflect on Tania while she lived with and among us. Tania and her husband, Rev. Fidel Alcala were united in holy matrimony on October 5th, 1975. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children. Tania was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Tania is survived by her husband and friend, Fidel Alcala, three children, Tania (Tanita) Alcala, David Alcala and Tehina Alcala Mendez, 3 stepchildren, Elizabeth Alcala Hernandez, Deborah Alcala Botello and Fidel Alcala Jr., brothers, Oscar De Leon, Carlos De Leon and Miguel De Leon; three sisters, Nora De Leon Trevino, Victoria DeLeon Garza and Alma De Leon Ancer, 13 beautiful grandchildren, and 2 precious great grandchildren, many friends and loved ones.
Tania was a dedicated servant of the Lord, first and foremost. Serving alongside her husband, they ministered and planted 5 churches across Texas, Ohio, and Kansas. Tania had a love for people, and for helping others. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She had a calm grace and an inner love that radiated everywhere she went. When in her presence, you could feel Gods love and you just knew she spent a lot of time with Jesus. There are many families and friends here today who could testify of her grace, kindness, generosity, and godliness. She was a tireless helper – and would go out of her way to help anyone in need (even if it meant an inconvenience on her part). She had the energy of a teenager that could run circles around most of us. Even to this day, we do not know how she did it. Her capacity to care and love us is awe inspiring. We are amazed and humbled at her dedication to her family and even more so to the Lord.
Her love for helping people knew no boundaries. In 1988, Tania became a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. Mary Kay suited her servant heart. She was able to help women not only realize their outer beauty but helped them embrace their inner beauty too. She always said that through Mary Kay, she was able to help women by sharing God’s love for them and show them how to love themselves. She loved helping women and as her love and passion for Mary Kay grew so did her business and she quickly became a Mary Kay Director in 1992. Tania was an excellent Director. In addition to helping women learn how to care for their skin, she shared with them the opportunity to have their own business in Mary Kay where they could grow in all levels; personal, professional, and financial. Tania would see the potential in people that most wouldn’t see themselves. She was always so proud of being part of a company that had strong foundations and moral values that lifted and empowered women and allowed them to be the best version of themselves, radiating strength, integrity, and professionalism.
Some of the words from her friends and family would describe her as a woman who possessed some of the most valuable assets: an immense heart, a constant willingness to help, her entire attention when needed, a sprinkle of joy during sadness, and a true calm during the storm. Her soul radiated joy and she always spread love. She was an elegant, precious, and radiant woman that set an example with her life and shared wisdom with her words. She was compassionate, noble and had the purest soul. Her gentle voice made you feel a special warmth and her words could embrace you during any circumstance.
She was grateful, at all times and delighted herself in daily conversations with God, where she found comfort, joy, and peace. She was a woman of prayer, constantly praying for her family and friends and anyone she knew who needed a miracle. It was no secret her biggest desire was for her generations to serve God. Hours before her passing, she reflected with her husband and said with a great smile – “God has been So Good”. She dreamt of the day she would be in the presence of the Lord; she knew there would never be a greater joy than that. Today we know that day has come and she is singing and praising the Lord like she loved to do in the presence of her loving Heavenly Father. Though our hearts are saddened with the void she has left in our hearts; Her impact on all of lives will be felt for generations to come.
