Thomas “Bro. Tom” Lucas Fatka, age 83, born on June 14, 1941, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 surrounded by family. Tom grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, moved to San Antonio, served in the US Army, and worked for Rock Island Railroad before surrendering into God’s ministry on October 11, 1973. He relocated his family to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Theological Seminary. He also became a dispatcher at the Hurst Police Department, later also serving as their Chaplin, and an Avon lady! He pastored Park Temple Baptist Church and Samuels Ave Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dolores Fatka, brothers Loren, Jerry, and Duane, and his loving wife Frankie. He is survived by brothers David and Chuck, children Sheri Milhollin (Earl Manning), Julie Carr (Glenn Carr) Tommy Fatka (Liz), and Lauren Wall. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and many, many “adopted” children-you know who you are!
We request all of Tom Fatka’s loved one to join us in celebrating his life and that of his wife Frankie at the visitation on Sunday, October 27 from 4 pm to 6pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas, 76134.
A service to honor both Tom and Frankie will be held on Monday, October 28 at 10am at Wedgwood Baptist Church 5522 Whitman Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76133.
