Vicki began her professional life shortly after graduating high school, going to work for Southwestern Bell. She built a lengthy and stellar career there, eventually retiring with the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
But Vicki’s greatest joy and calling was her family. To her, everything revolved around the people she loved. Countless holidays were spent at her home, where she was known for her amazing meals, a warm and welcoming spirit, and legendary domino games that were always fast and furious.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dusty Rhoades; her daughters, Emily Haydin and Cheryl Danielle Babcock, and Cheryl’s husband, Chris Babcock. She was a proud grandmother to Bryce, Lauren, Haley, Courtney, Stevie, Ella, Kayla, Noah and Brian; and a cherished great-grandmother to Bryson, Bralyn, Haven, Isaiah, and Lainey.
Vicki is also survived by her brothers, Jim Jacobus and Ken Sellers, and her sister, Barbara Kay Krueger; as well as her sister-in-law Christie Jacobus, sister-in-law Judith Sellers, and brother-in-law Kurt Krueger.
Vicki was a follower of Christ and a faithful member of Lifegate Church in Burleson, Texas where she found great joy and strength in her church family. Her faith shaped the way she loved others—with compassion, humility, and unwavering grace.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and fierce devotion to family and friends will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
