BURLESON -- The earthly journey of Wiley Weldon Ellis came to an end on Saturday, December 19,2015 having attained the age of 94 years, six months and nineteen days. He began his journey on June 1, 1921, in Wichita Falls, Texas as the fifth of six children born to Edward Lee Ellis and Letitia Ann (Inman) Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and first wife of fifty one years, Dora (Owen) Ellis. Weldon was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the European Theater of operations. He fought in France, Belgium and Germany. he attained the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1946. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Crowley Road. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Road.
He is survived by his second wife of eleven years, Virginia Brown Ellis, his two sons from his first marriage and daughter-in-law, Virginia's two daughters and their husbands as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
