Yvonne Johnson was born June 26th 1928 in Campwood Texas. Her parents were Myra and Edwin Peeks. At the age of 15 she married Thomas (Tommy) Johnson. She spent several years as a military wife living in a few different States across the country. They had two children, Thomas (Tonnie) E. Johnson and Carl W. Johnson. After Tommy left the military she worked keeping the books for his business while taking care of her home and children. Later in life she devoted much of her time to her Grandchildren Tim Johnson and Jacob Johnson. She encouraged them to have a love of reading and learning. She was always there for them rather it be attempting to play ball outside or teaching them to cook and clean. After the loss of her husband Tommy she enjoyed working in her yard with her daughter-in-law Marolyn Johnson. She also enjoyed attending fiddle contests and other musical events with her grandson Jacob. She loved seeing her great grandchildren Trevor, Destiny, James, and Austin Johnson. Yvonne remained quite active in her church being sure to send cards of encouragement to anyone that was in need. In the past few years, no longer being able to work in her yard, she still enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She greatly enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels, and rabbits in her backyard and the photographs her son Carl took of them. She continued to enjoy church events and activities with her Sunday School class at Alsbury Baptist Church. Yvonne also loved caring for her dog Maggie. Throughout her life Yvonne always put her family and others ahead of herself. She was one of the most kind people you would ever meet. She was sure to make everyone she met feel they were special and loved. Her faith was very important to her as was clearly demonstrated by the way she lived her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Johnson and grandson Tim Johnson. Survivors include Son and daughter-in law Tonnie and Sandy Johnson, son and daughter-in-law Carl and Marolyn Johnson, grandson Jacob Johnson, sisters Betty Lewallen and Myra Schaper, brothers Albert and Sonny Peeks, four great-grand-children, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
