She was born on 04/30/27 in Dallas, Oregon to Grant H. Lederer & Marie H. Lederer. She lived and grew up in Brooks, Oregon and attended Catholic School until she was 18. She then traveled to New York with a friend and did not return to Oregon for 16 years. She met her husband, Earl C. Hitchcock of Oneonta and they were married on 05/30/1946 in Morris, NY and united for 68 years.
She carried the bloodline of the Okanagan Indian.
Micki & Earl bowled for many years on league teams, but they most enjoyed square dancing with friends at the Covered Bridge Hall in Unadilla. They traveled to Bermuda, Hawaii and Aruba while square dancing during their trips.
She is survived by her children, Jeanne DeSilva of Franklin, NY; Gary Hitchcock of Rochester, NY; Richard (Amanda) Hitchcock of Watsontown, PA; Son-in-law Tom Gregory of Unadilla, NY. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Joel DeSilva, Liberty Hill, Tx; Don (Maria) DeSilva of Franklin, NY; Audra DeSilva of Franklin, NY; Kara (Jason) Pardee of Hamden, NY; Jill (Brian) Smith of Unadilla, NY; Tyler Gregory of Unadilla, NY; Brandi Gregory (Charlie) of Masonville, NY; Charlene Hitchcock of Watsontown, PA; Alex (Jared) Meyer of Montandon, PA; Richard (Janelle) Hitchcock of Danville, PA. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Raegan and many nieces & nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Earl Hitchcock; daughter, Susan Gregory of Unadilla; granddaughter, Caitlin Hitchcock; sister, Mettie L Jenkins of Oregon; brother, Harold Lederer of Oregon; son-in-law, Roger DeSilva of Franklin, NY; great-grandson, Matthew DeSilva.
She had a great compassion for her grandbabies. She loved to see them come and visit and never wanted them to leave. Their hugs & kisses were the best. She was a very caring and generous Mother/Grandmother. If you needed a hand or a loan, she was always there to give you a lift up.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, NY on June 19th, 2021 at 11 a.m. with interment of ashes at Ouleout Cemetery after.
Micki would have been 94 on April 30th. Happy Birthday in Heaven. You will forever be in our hearts.
