Bonnie King

Mrs. Bonnie Lee King left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 3:15 am at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Home. She was 89 years old. Mrs. King was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on July 29, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Virgie Lee Gillum King. Mrs. King served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the WACs in 1946, Mrs. King married her late husband, Raymond King and moved to Middletown, Ohio where she has been a resident for 66 years. Mrs. King was employed as an Outpatient Receptionist at the Middletown Regional Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. King was a member of and Sunday School teacher for The Church of Mayfield. One of her greatest joys was gardening. Mrs. King was a loving and devoted wife and mother, her entire life was wrapped around her faith and family. Not only her family, but the world has been blessed to have had her in it. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond King, who passed in 1974; two sisters, Irene King Banks Burnest and Cassie King Newton; a brother, Charles Ray King Charlena; and a great-grandson, James Christopher Tubbs. Mrs. King is survived by one sister, Carol Lois King Byrd; three daughters, Carol Sue King Braun, JoAnn King Tubbs Ron, and Vicki Lee King Carver Kent, all of the Middletown area; one granddaughter, Stacey L. Braun Brown Doug; four grandsons, Jason A. Braun, James C. Tubbs Jenni, Joshua R. Tubbs Michele, Charles Joseph Carver; and seven great grandchildren, Alissa, Andrew, Anna, Audrey, Eli, Landon, and James Davis. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie L. King will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park in Trenton.
