OBITUARY

Charlene Marie (Richmond) Sparks

9 March, 1936 – 16 February, 2023
IN THE CARE OF

Anderson Funeral Home

Charlene Marie (Richmond) Sparks joyfully entered Heaven on February 16, 2023. We are confident she was greeted by her Heavenly Father with the words, “Well done, good and faithful

servant.”

Charlene was the daughter of Charlie and Marie (Eisenmenger) Richmond. She was born on March 9, 1936 in Franklin, Ohio at the home of her maternal grandparents. She attended Franklin City Schools and was a lifelong member of Franklin First United Methodist Church.

Charlene married Walter Lee Sparks on April 20, 1956. They were married almost 38 years until his passing in 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, Charlene was preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Bud” Richmond, and her sisters and their husbands, Sandy (Robert) Fox and Lois (Robert) Priest. She was also preceded in death by newborn twin daughters, daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Robert) Sams; daughter, Debbie Douglas; son-in-law, Daniel Camp, Jr.; and grandson, Bobby Sams.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Camp and Candy (Dan) Fellers, and son-in-law, Bruce Douglas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Charlene retired from EG&G (formerly Monsanto) after more than 30 years as a small parts worker, quality control inspector, and internal auditor. She attended Sinclair Community College receiving a Quality Control certificate. Charlene had a real attention to detail, so she was perfectly suited for this line of work.

Charlene will be most remembered for her unfailing faith in God and her dedication to and love for her family. She was very independent, hard working, energetic, quick witted, and friendly. She was grateful for her long life and expressed, frequently, that she looked forward to being with God. She will be dearly missed by her family who hold on to the promise that we will be reunited in Heaven.

Per Charlene’s wishes, her family will hold a private service and celebration of life.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.andersonfunerals-franklin.com for the Sparks family.
