I always enjoyed Chris' performances at Middletown High School. His talent, energy and enthusiasm for life was uplifting to all who knew him. My sincere sympathy to his family and friends.

There are certain people you meet during your lifetime that just stick in your heart even if you only knew them a short time. Chris was one of those people for me. His passion for life drew us all in and made us love him. I know he will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of his life touching theirs.

The world is saddened by this loss. Comfort can come knowing the joy this young may brought to my life, my family, and anyone who met him. Eric and Christofer were a partnership that far surpassed the ritual of marriage they weren't allowed to have. The short time they had together before Chris' unfortunate accident, the positive energy they willingly gave to the community, and the faith they had in themselves and each other, regardless of contrary civil or religious notions about their love, has left an indelible and positive mark on our world. I don’t think it’s possible to honor Christofer more than to say that he was a fighter for the good he knew was possible in people, and a survivor of the bad he knew from experience. And because of this, he was a person who knew how to be kind, and this kindness allowed him to learn how to share his spirit with others. He taught everyone he met to appreciate the unique character of all people and the incredible energy of diversity. Middletown lost Christofer when he left to come to New York, for the same reason thousands of other small towns lose their best. New York welcomed him, gave him a home, allowed him to make new friends, find Eric, and a chance to be part of something larger than himself. Now Middletown can share his legacy of strength, and his discovery of happiness that would have ended too soon if he had lived to be 100.
