

Donald "Jack" Hammock, 83, of Franklin, Ohio, joined our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family while holding his wife's hand. Jack was born on July 8, 1933, to parents Eli and Vada Hammock in Mt. Vernon, KY. He moved to Franklin at the age of nine and graduated from Franklin High School in 1952. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Kinney in 1953 and began his family of five children. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was then employed as a stationary engineer at Dayton Power and Light for 44 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 149, served on the Warren County Veterans Service Board, and was recently inducted into the Franklin HIgh School Athletic Hall of Fame. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter which he enjoyed with his sons, grandsons, and many friends. He also loved a good card game, visiting with his family and friends on his front porch, playing with his dogs, doting on his grandchildren, and a home cooked meal from his wife. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Kinney) Hammock; five children, Debora (R. Keith) Clements, Lisa (Peter) Jaffe, W. Kinney (Janet) Hammock, Dale (Andrea) Hammock, Susan Hammock Renner (Thomas Renner); seven grandchildren, Suzanne (Matthew) Campbell, Michael (Abigail) Clements, Christina (Christopher) Spurrier, Cody (Nicole) Hammock, Kalee Hollon, Allyson Hollon, and Lycia Hollon; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 10:00am-1:00pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Danny Griffith officiating.
