Dorothy Cleo Epperson, age 98, of Springboro, OH, entered into eternal peace January 8, 2020. Dorothy was born in Idol (Thornhill), TN to Lafayette Edward (L.E.) and Lula Jane (Clement) Shockley who she affectionately called poppa and momma.
Dorothy was a stay at home mother until her employment with Cheney Pulp and Paper for about 30 years. Dorothy was a member of The Ohio Order of Confederate Rose. She loved growing flowers and vegetables, canning and cooking. Most of all she loved her family. She was a sweet, kind and gentle person and loved by all who knew her. Dorothy was saved and became a member of Dry Valley Church in Thorn Hill, TN at a young age.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Edward "Leo" Epperson, sons, Wayne and Donnie Epperson, daughter, Jady Mobley, grandson, Greg Lawson, brothers and sisters, Ada (Don) Roberts, Austin (Hazel) Shockley, Estel Shockley, Vada (Bob) Leonard, Lewis "Bill" (Elsie) Shockley, Edith (Frank) Dalton, Carra (Charlie) Johnson, Irene Shockley, Roy (Barbara) Shockley, brother-in-law, Garrett Dalton, special niece, Peggy Leonard Dyas.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Pam Epperson (Charles Seiber), grandsons, Kevin Puckett, Brandon (Cindi) Epperson, Jim Mobley, Dustin Nash, great grandchildren, Jordan (Sarah) Epperson, Tessa Epperson, Clay (Emily) Epperson, Jon Murphy, Megan Stone, Michael, Arthur (Molly) Stone, great great grandchildren, Shiloh, Indiana, Ezra, Arianna and Thomas. Her sister, Betty Dalton, niece, Sherry Lawson, daughter-in-law, Dreama Epperson, and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services are 4pm Sunday January 12, 2020 at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E 2nd St Franklin, OH with Celebrant Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4pm at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be Monday at 1pm at Springboro Cemetery.
