He served the United States Navy. He worked for Shoemaker Ambulance, Lemon Township Police Department, volunteer for Madison Township Fire Department and retired from Butler County Sheriff's Office after 30 years of service. He held many positions while at BCSO, Deputy, Detective, Warrants Officer and at retirement, Sergeant in the jail. After his retirement he served as a Special Deputy and City of Middletown Mall Security.
He is preceded in death by parents, twin brother, Gary. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Peggy (Wombold) Miller; daughters, Jenny (Steve) Wright, Melinda Forkner, Missy (James) Thayer; son, Jeffrey Miller; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Forkner, Erin (Ben) Swope, Amy (Andy) Stephens, Cara (Scott) Traufler, Jeremey Miller, Andrew Forkner, Alyssa and Hannah Grooms; great-grandchildren, Drew and Noah Forkner, Reed and Anna Swope, Sophie and Brady Stephens, Evan and Emma Traufler, Audrey and Eden Miller; great-great grandchild, Chase Forkner; sister, Phyllis; special nephew, like his son, Michael (Jodi) Miller; nephew, Greg McIntosh; niece, Patty Brigance and numerous cousins, family and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2pm, Monday, November 6, 2017 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH. Visitation will be 12-2pm prior to the service. FOP service will begin at 1:45 pm. Butler County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard and Bagpipes will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
