

Eric Ronald Oches, M.D., age 72, of Middletown, passed away Thursday morning at the Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Cleveland, OH, December 9, 1937, the son of Eric and Elisabeth Oches. Dr. Oches practiced for 41 years at the Children's Medical Center, taking care of 3 generations of children in the practice he loved. He was very active in the Middletown community, serving for many years with the Salvation Army Board, past president of the Middletown Hospital medical staff, and the Middletown Kiwanis Club, where he was twice President, composed the newsletter, was in charge of the Pancake Day, and had just received the Hixon Award for lifetime achievement. He also was an avid gardener, and loved his yard and watching the birds. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha S. Oches; 3 children, Rick Oches of Boston, MA, Kim Jim Ciesick of Cincinnati, and Andy Leslie Oches of West Chester; and by 5 grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Ciesick, and Eric, Abbey, and Maggie Oches. His parents preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 9, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dean Penrod.
