

Clyde was born August 19, 1941 in Middletown, the son of Joseph and Lora (Ellison) Eldridge. He retired from Sulzer Escher Wyss, where he worked as a draftsman. He attended Eighth Street Church of God in Franklin. Clyde served his community as a volunteer firefighter and served as councilman and vice mayor of Carlisle. He was a 1959 graduate of Lemon Monroe High School.
Clyde is survived by son, Kevin Earl Eldridge; daughter, Jacqueline Rene’ Eldridge; granddaughter, Haley Ann Eldridge Gillen; sister, Janet Kendrick of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Clarence and Lela Eldridge; brothers, Carter, Floyd, Roy, Samuel, Louis, James, and Kenneth; sisters, Retha Payton, Helen Powell, and Henrietta Phillabaum; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend Rob McCarty officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin.
