

Ewing Taulbee, 85, of Middletown, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born October 17, 1926, in New Boston, Ohio to Millard and Mattie Taulbee. Ewing was an electrical contractor in Middletown prior to his retirement. He served in the United States Navy as a Gunner's Mate during World War II. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years including golfing, wood-working, fishing at Lake Erie, and playing his mandolin with friends in Ft. Myers, Florida, and Port Clinton, Ohio. He will always be remembered as a great storyteller.
Ewing is survived by his wife, Alma; sister, Ruth Joy Charles; son, Michael Terri Gibbs Taulbee of Atlanta; and four daughters, Cathy Harden Tom of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Judy Hitzing Doug of Jacksonville, Florida; Susan Nein Tom of Winchester, Kentucky; and Amy Spurlin Tim of The Woodlands, Texas. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Taulbee Beth, his sister, Nadine Chaney, and his parents.
A visitation will be held Sunday, July 29, from 5 to 7 pm at Breitenbach McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, Middletown, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Middletown, 1001 Grove Street, Suite 800, Middletown, Ohio, 45044.
