Fred was a great man. He loved a game of dominoes or two. Of course, if you got him started, it would end up being about 5 or 10 games. He loved a good joke and even a bad one. He loved bisquits and gravy, donuts, bridge mix, gumballs and scalloped potatoes #45;-everything bad for a diabetic. He liked his morning coffee. He liked the smell of orange dawn detergent. He had a great sense of humor even when faced wtih difficult circumstances. Although his sight failed him, he loved to read. As his sight failed, he enjoyed being read to whether from Reader's Digest, Moby Dick or the Bible. He loved quot;The Lord quot; and talked about all the things that He had gotten him through. Fred treasured his family and always looked forward to the times when you were all together. He loved to go to the boat with you all or stay home and play forks #45;-I heard many stories about that. I am priviledged to have been a part of his life for a short time. He is finally resting in the arms of Jesus where he has only peace and no more suffering. May God bring comfort and peace to his family.

My dearest Uncle Junior, You were such a good man and like a Father to me,I will always cherish the great times I had with you, the big wheel ramps over the ditch in the backyard,teaching me the finer things in life,poker and how to shoot pool.Also,I will never forget your wonderful sense of humor.I will miss you dearly! Grandpa - Words can't describe all the you mean to me and so many people. Some words/phrases that come to mind: Father/Dad, Grandfather/Grandpa, Great Grand Father, Love/Lover, Stud, Warrior, Gamer, Trucker, Family, Smile, Happy, Persevere, Go-getter, Compassionate, Proud, ladies' man, Chargers Fan oops,maybe I made that one up, Fisherman, Hunter, Story Teller, ladies' man, ladies' man. I have shared so many memories with you and was always so proud of you and how well you fought for everything - Never giving up! Now I have to share some of the funny times that we had together... Going back some 26 years... I remember back in the days when mom and dad would take Travis and I to the truckstop to meet up with you. You were always so kind and loving, while always so proud of how hard that belly of yours was...saying things like quot;Grandson, bring your head over here quot; proceeding to pull my head into the rock hard belly of yours. Or when you'd let my brother and I sit in the truck and pull the horn...Honk Honk! Looking back on some old pictures, I didn't realize that you were such a stud you know..unlike uncle D :. You may not have gave uncle Dwayn your looks, but you sure did share your honker with him : Boy did we have good times teasing him too! #45;-Did somebody say quot;HAWK HAWK quot;? Going back a about 20 years ago... We came out to Ohio-er, well I think that's how you said it ;o, for a family trip Mom, Dad, Travi and I. Cross country truck ride...boy were we excited to see you. Once we finally got there.. I remember playing games with you, traveling around with you, and making fun of Uncle Dwayn. You always made sure to do a little spoiling while we were there. Then there was the family reunion...boy were you excited to take us there and show us off All of us. Always so proud of your family, while in the background it was us that was so proud of you. Looking back about 5 years or so... Mom, Shell and I came to visit you in the trailer...boy were you proud of that thing and your little scooters : We had to get everybody over there too so that we could play some poker...well...you and uncle Dwayn tried to play but ended up doing more donating than playing. Then came the danger zone...I know that you still have scars from those games of spoons we played. I think that Shell and my mom purposely sharpened their finger nails to dig into our flesh and laugh about it, while stealing the spoons from beneath our hands. Boy, were those good times or what? Then you'd say, get that Jenny over here to play some cards with us. What did that lead to? That's right, who could forget the monkey dance. The rules were that whoever lost the game of spoons would have to do the Monkey Dance. I never knew that you had Monkey blood in you, but I soon found out. The way that you moved your body, while holding a banana in one hand and itching your arm pit with the other hand..I knew that you truely did live with a group of apes at one time in your life...and with your sense of humor, it was probably a group of chimpanzees. Then we visited the boat...to go and gamble. Boy did you enjoy that. And about 3 years ago...you remember that? Let's relive it together... You were in the nursing home, you know the one with your special little girl there : The one that tried to come and visit you in the room? That was too funny grandpa, you told me...keep her our, she's trying to get me :o Then we made the trip to the boat again. That trip was rough, but at least you got a free shirt out of it ; That is when I learned how sneaky you were...always able to be the ladies' man. You know what I'm talking about...talking to Shell and asking her to get you a hot dog, but not any hot dog...a CHILI DOG. Boy did you love that Chili. It wasn't until later when we found out that you weren't suposed to have chili. You were one sneaky guy : Then you called over to Mom to have her sneak in not one, but TWO Double Cheese Burgers. Sneaky Sneaky Sneaky, but I love you for it. So like some recon soldiers Mom, Shell and I had to bring in the burgers to you. First thing you did, was take one of them and hide it for later and then started to chow down on that sucker. I'd never seen a burger go down so quick! Boy did you love those burgers too...not as much as the chili, but you still loved them. Grandpa, I love you! Will miss you! But will always know that you're up above looking down protecting us. Don't worry about a thing. I will make sure that I take care of Mom and Shell, as well as look over Travis, Cole and the rest of the family. We all love you sooooo much. Will miss your smile and forever happiness. You just relax up there, because you know in time we'll all be up there to visit you again, just like old times sakes. Just make sure that you get some gloves to protect those hands of yours from those sharp nails on Mom and Shell : Also, make sure to keep an eye out for the next Harry Potter movie. Fred, All I can say is Ladies Man I remember going places years ago, What a flirt you were, good job Fred. I think I learned a few lines from you. Everyone that knew you will miss you, You are a great man..Thank you for being such a wonderful Grampa to my Boys ,Troy and Travis. God Bless

My brother and I thank my aunts, uncles and cousins for seeing visiting my father and helping him as much as they could. I also Thank my Brother and sister in law for being there also. I know we all had times for my dad, that we will never forget. I will never forget growing up with my dad and my brother and all the good times we had, though my dad went through such a tough life, and as always was there no matter what and tried helping anyone whom he could. I love my dad with all my heart as I know my brother does also. The times we shared together was so remarkable and everyone who met my dad couldn't help but love him. He had the greatest personality always trying to smile and joke and always thankful for what he did have. I love you dad and appreciated what you did for me through out my whole life to be able to put up with my teenage years and my brothers. You are the greatest dad that Dwain and I could have ever asked for. I will miss you so very much dad and love you, and I am so very sorry I wasn't there for your last breathe. I am so very proud of you dad with all my heart. love your daughter Angie

When I lost my dad to cancer Fred told me that I still had a dad...... him! Not only was fred a great dad to me and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren he was also a true friend and a wonderful father in law! Fred will be greatly missed
