I just a few minutes ago (on July 13, 2021) found out about Gary's passing last year.  My Dad pastored in Middletown from 1950-1965, when we moved to Indianapolis.  I went to Anthony Wayne, Hunter & Hampton Bennett schools.  I have recently gotten in touch with a classmate from that that time.  Even as a child, I thought Gary was special.  I had a secret crush on him as a child for years.  I never knew him as an adult.  Now I believe that something special was the spirit of God on & in him.  And from a little girl's perspective -- he was also that cute little red-haired boy I saw in class & on our bus with the gentle, friendly spirit about him.  He was always smiling.  So sorry to hear of his passing.  Blessings and condolences to his family.  God bless you!



Gary was one of those people that left a lasting impression, and left a smile on your face when he left. Thank you Gary for being YOU

When we lose people we’ve known since first grade, we lose a little piece of ourself that one day hopefully we will meet again

Just to let you know We totally miss you .The air today and the last several weeks havn't been great to breathe without you here .We wake up and We notice something is missing . Ol Dalton goes looking for you often and waits by the door hoping your coming home . And now We are understand you already are home . We just know it . God has been blessing me and Marie  in some form every single day . We hit some bumps in the road here and there along the way in the last month or so which is to be expected after losing my best friend and boss . But God is giving us what we need . And to be honest , I just know it was you and God on answering my prayers this week  .I just asked God just to give me a sign that your okay . And He did and then He blessed me and my wife and my kids with the things we needed . And the best thing I do know everyone on this side of Heaven you did everything ,and I just know We all have a Loving Guardian  Angel  Gary Henderson on that side of Heaven now still shining and giving  .Rest in Peace .See you soon one day  .We love and Miss You . So many words come to my mind when I think about this man . But I want to start out by saying thank you loving me and my husband Jerry .You took Us All in some way and somehow to give us love .Devotion to a good friendship and you even made my kids proud by taking notice of them .They never had a good place to live .We struggled at times .Sometimes without  food and shelter from the storms of life .But you never wavered or complained you went and made good choices for things that mattered most .I watched you work endlessly .I watched the love you gave to each of your Dayton Daily News Family and Our Family ,And your Family You can never hang your head for anything because you truly helped me and Jerry and my children Vincent and Annibelle in so many ways I can't count .So thank you .We love you Gary .I just know God has a Mansion for you in Heaven,.Again Thanks for All your good works and thanks for treating us like your own,.WE WILL, MISS YOU .But one day we will see you .Best friend Ever . I went to school with Gary and grew up in Hunter with Gary!  He always had a smile on his face and a joke coming out of his mouth!  My condolences and prayers go out to his family! I know he will be missed by many!  Until we meet again in Heaven with all the other classmates we have lost over the years!!


Dear Henderson family,   I am sorry to hear of Gary's passing.   I went to church with Gary at Grand Ave. Church of God.  We were in the same Sunday School class.  He was born in January and I was born in August.   He always had a nice personality  and was a pleasant friend.  As we got older,  I would ask Loretta how he was doing.  She and I would talk about  his family and many other things.   May you know , you are in my prayers.    

Sadly, we say Goodbye  to another of our alumni of Franklin  High School Class of 1970. WE WILL MISS YOU FRIEND. Always smiling with a hearty greeting.   Many a day we passed  with smiles and waves as we delivered news to our customers.  I worked with Amber for a time and my deepest sympathy for family and friends.  Sending love,  hugs, and prayers for you all  for comfort and acceptance. May Gary always be in our hearts.

So many memories .But my favorite memory of Gary is his everyday fight to make the World around him a good place . He never gave up to get a job done and was always there to support his Dayton Daily Family .Co Workers . Me and my Family .The Reedys .And endless families from All over .He was a good human,being . Good Father .Good Citizen . Good Worker .And a. Great Friend of mine . You will be  sadly missed . And Yes we. know . Dalton needs his Chicken with peas and Rice .We got it covered .Just like God will cover you . Love you Gary .We All do . 

I am saddened by the passing of a man I called Friend. Our condolences go out to Gary’s family and the rest of his friends. RIP my man .....

Such a sad day to learn a longtime lifelong friend  and neighbor  has passed away..  Our parents were some of the First property owners in lil ole Hunter..Ohio..  Gary and I were friends from elementary school  and his mother was the librarian at Hunter  school for many years.  Over the years we still remained friends and kept in touch..
