

George Clarence Brecht, age 79, of Middletown, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born October 5, 1932, in Hamilton, the son of George Charles Brecht and Fern Estella Moore Brecht. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1951, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and worked for Haskins & Sells C.P.A.'s and from there worked for Armco Steel retiring in 1991 after more than 30 years of service. He was treasurer for Light Up Middletown, Hot Air Balloon Nationals, Middletown Republican Club, Browns Run Country Club, Church of the Ascension, American Red Cross, and was a member of the Middletown City School Board. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor "Ellie" Brecht; one daughter, Leslie Ann husband, Kenneth Jones of Great Falls, Virginia; one grandson, Kameron Jones; and two sisters, Frances "Frankie" Carlson of Middletown, Barbara Wilson of Middletown, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Lynn Brecht; his parents; and one sister, Louise Mansfield. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension with Reverend Elaine Caldbeck officiating. Visitation will be 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of America, P.O.
