Gerald R. Runge

Gerald R. "Jerry" Runge, age 76, of Bardstown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Sycamore Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1939 in Pacific, Missouri, the son of the late Raymond and AnnaJean (King) Runge. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his; daughter, Pamela Runge; son-in-law, Raymond Burkot; brother, David Runge; and sister, Karen Scott; sisters-in-law, Billie White and Karen Smith; as well as several wonderful in-laws. Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia "Pat" Runge; two daughters, Patricia Malinosky, Janice Burkot; son, Jeff (Sally) Runge; three granddaughters, Emily Burkot, Dea Malinosky, Morgan Malinosky; two grandsons, Andrew (Heather) Burkot, Simon Burkot; brother, Mark (Mary) Runge; sister-in-law, Anna Runge; sister-in-law, Bette Filby; brothers-in-law, Don Madden and Terry (Kim) Madden; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry was formerly employed with Phillips Petroleum Company for 34 years. During their first retirement, he and Pat traveled the country, enjoying their career as Workkampers. For the past 8 years, they had a great time as photographers for Walt Disney World. Jerry was an amazing husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Following Jerry's wishes, the family has chosen cremation with no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Jerry's memory, to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
