

James G. "Jim" Cottle, age 85, of Middletown, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 13, 1928 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the son of Charlie Cottle and Edna Potter Cottle. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during World War II. He worked at Armco Steel. He was a member of West Chester Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by two daughters, Frances Cottle of Mason, OH, Betty husband, Rick Carpenter of Franklin, OH; three grandchildren, James Tyler wife, Sarah Carpenter of Nashville, TN, Travis Carpenter of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Carpenter of Franklin, OH; one sister, Peggy husband, Claude Cunningham of Middletown, OH; two brothers, Cortis wife, Juanita Cottle of Leesburg, FL, Guy Cottle of Morehead, KY; close friends, Luther and Barb Morris; numerous nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Cottle; his parents; and a brother, Charles Cottle Jr. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Mahaffey officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery, with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
