James McGuire

Jim retired from both Inland Container and Kroger. He was a keen sports fan, especially UK Basketball and Franklin Wildcats. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He faithfully attended Hillcrest Baptist church with his family. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 70 years. He was a faithful volunteer at The Lion’s Club, Deardoff Senior Center, and Sherman Glen. He could fix anything around the house, and Jim was a very humble, kind, and caring person to anyone that he met.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters, daughters, Marsha McGuire and Michelle Layne, and sons-in-laws, Keith Maugans and Dave Eversole. Jim is survived by his wife of 70 years, Loretta (Henry) McGuire; his daughters, Melissa Eversole and Myra “Janine” Maugans, and son-in-law, Tim Layne. Five grandchildren; Rachel (Keith), Brian (Megan), Emiley, Molly (Michael), and Leah (Dieter); seven great-grandchildren; Alexis, Julia, David, Isaac, Joseph, Elijah, and Luke.

A visitation for James will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with burial following at Springboro Cemetery.
