

James Pennington, 68, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife Janice, son Jimmy (Cindy) Pennington, daughters Debbie Gilbert and Leada (Mike) Friend, sisters Peggy (Terry) Wells and Patsy Adkins, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, his mother in law, Shirley Warmoth, and special friends Terry Wells, Thomas Hazlett, Jason Collins, Tom Nicholson, and Karl Kolker plus a host of additional relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Vicky Pennington and his parents, Beulah and Denver Pennington.
James was a man who truly loved life and never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a hand to any family or friend in need. He had an undying love for his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Of the many great loves in his life he enjoyed family time the most. He loved family dinners, playing with his grandchildren, family game nights, holiday dinners, days at the races, backyard barbecue, and quiet visits at home. He also loved his time spent at camp in Indiana where he met one of his best friends, Karl Kolker. He was often the DJ or auctioneer for camp events and made many long lasting friendships there. Other favorite activities were going to Cowboy Church, game nights with friends and Saturday night card nights.
Funeral services are Thursday 11:00 am at the Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N. Main St. Springboro, with Bill Patrick officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Springboro Cemetery.
